Amy Dietz, P.E.
Water Resources Engineer, George Butler Associates
Amy Dietz, P.E. Employee Profile
An enthusiastic cyclist, Amy recently started biking to work because, as she says, it energy efficient and fun! It is this same commitment to and enthusiasm for preserving and enhancing our natural resources that Amy brings to her work as a water resources engineer for George Butler Associates.

Since joining GBA in 2001, Amy has been keenly involved in all aspects of storm water management planning and design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stream bank stabilization, environmental studies, and wetland delineation and mitigation. She is a key member of GBA's FocusGreen team, an in-house group of architects and engineers who strive to incorporate the principles of sustainable or green design into GBA's projects. At the same time, FocusGreen team members are training other staff, and clients, about the latest green design standards, products, and practices.

Amy, who has a B.S. degree in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska, has attended continuing education courses in wetland delineation, rain garden design, water quality modeling, stream geomorphology, GIS applications in floodplain analysis, and design for effective sediment and erosion control. She is currently doing graduate coursework at the University of Kansas in the area of environmental engineering, with studies focusing on sediment transport, bioremediation, hydrology, and open-channel hydraulics.
