Merriam, Kansas (near I-35 and Shawnee Mission Parkway)
After one year, the rain garden plants have filled in nicely and are doing their job of infiltrating stormwater.

The rain garden design is the focal point for the community gathering area east of the building. Runoff from the building roof is dropped into the rain garden on alignment with the building central corridor. An overflow riser is hidden within the ornamental rock formation. Two feet of engineered soil was used with a native limestone rock mulch.

Project was designed by BNIM Architects.
