10,000 Rain Gardens has four levels of outreach including public presentations, workshops for professionals, workshops for gardening enthusiasts and special presentations from our speakers bureau.
Public presentations are about the 10,000 Rain Gardens initiative and helps answer questions about stormwater, water quality, and best management practices (BMPs). Each presentation is about 15 minutes, plus time for questions and answers.
If you would like to schedule a public presentation for your group, please send us a request with your group's name, potential dates and times, event location and the type and size of audience. Also let us know if the location would be suitable for a PowerPoint presentation, and if you have a screen and viewing area at your location.
Workshops for professionals, such as landscape architects and installers, are full-day, hands-on workshops that lead to rain garden certification. These are offered yearly.
Workshops for gardening enthusiasts (and new gardeners) are short, hands-on workshops on designing, planting, and maintaining a rain garden. These are scheduled on a regular basis.
Special presentations are available on a limited basis. These presentations are made possible through the 10,000 Rain Gardens Speakers Bureau, a group of experts on native plants and green solutions.
